Continuous Timeline Across Multiple Slides

Description

A cluttered timeline with too much content crammed into a small space can lose its visual impact and effectiveness. Learn how to easily split your timeline across multiple slides while maintaining a seamless, connected story.

Instructions

  1. Bring up your timeline - perhaps it contains a lot of text and would benefit from being split across multiple slides.
  2. Select a few of the timeline milestones.
  3. Move the selected milestones so that they are positioned outside the slide area.
  4. Right-click the slide thumbnail on the left.
  5. Select Duplicate Slide.
  6. On the duplicated slide, move the milestones you previously placed outside the slide back onto the slide.
  7. On the original slide, delete the milestones that you moved off the slide earlier.
  8. Select the timeline on the original slide.
  9. Extend it to the right so that it continues beyond the edge of the slide.
  10. On the duplicated slide, select the timeline.
  11. Extend it to the left so that it continues beyond the edge of the slide, allowing it to visually connect with the timeline from the original slide.
  12. Go to Transitions.
  13. Select Push.
  14. Then click Effect Options.
  15. Choose From Right.
  16. Adjust the milestones as needed - for example, by spacing them out evenly along the timeline.
