Create a 3D map pin

Description

Learn how to create a 3D map pin.

Instructions

  1. Click on Insert.
  2. Click on Shapes.
  3. Insert the shape called Merge under the Flowchart category.
  4. Also insert the shape called Desicion placed under the same category.
  5. Select both shapes.
  6. Go to Shape Outline.
  7. Choose No Outline.
  8. Make sure the rhomb is as wide as the triangle and place it on top of the triangle like so.
  9. Click on Shape Fill.
  10. Make the rhomb lighter than the triangle.
  11. Select the triangle.
  12. Duplicate it (ctrl + D).
  13. Select both triangles.
  14. Click on Align.
  15. Choose Align Left.
  16. Click on Shape Fill.
  17. Make the new triangle, that is now placed on top of the first triangle, darker.
  18. Click on Insert.
  19. Click on Shapes.
  20. Insert the shape called Rectangle placed under the Flowchart category.
  21. Insert the rectangle so that it covers half of the triangle and the rhomb.
  22. Click on Shape Outline.
  23. Choose No Outline.
  24. Select the triangle first and then the rectangle. The order the shapes are selected in is crucial to the end result.
  25. Click on Merge Shapes.
  26. Choose Subtract.
  27. Click on Shape Fill.
  28. Pick a color that is lighter than the other half of the triangle but darker than de rhomb.
  29. Select the rhomb.
  30. Click on Bring Forward.
  31. Click on Bring to front.
  32. And there you have your 3D map pin!
