Mark a tag as Artifact in Adobe Acrobat Pro

Light

Description

Objects such as images, lines, etc. should be marked as artifacts in order to exclude decorative objects from screen reading and improve accessibility in the PDF.

Instructions

Marking a tag as an artifact means that the object is excluded from the available structure in the PDF. It is used for content that is decorative or lacks informational value, such as lines, frames, background images, or page numbers.

  1. The marked tag is empty.
  2. Because it is not marked as an artifact, it will still be read by screen readers.
  3. Click the arrow next to the tag to open it.
  4. Right-click on the subordinate content.
  5. Click Change Tag to Artifact.
  6. Then click Ok.
  7. Now the tag is completely empty.
