Description

You can easily convert your presentation into a PDF file. The PDF is easy to share and looks exactly how you want it to, with the correct fonts and layout.

Instructions

You can quickly and easily convert your PowerPoint presentation to a pdf. The pdf is easy to share. For example, after a lecture where you want the participants to have access to notes but not be able to make changes to the file. Another advantage is that you can be completely sure the presentation looks exactly as you want it to; with the correct fonts and layout.

  1. Click on File.
  2. Choose Save as.
  3. Click on the drop-down menu for file extensions, it might say "PowerPoint Presentation (*.pptx)".
  4. Select Pdf.
  5. Choose More options.
  6. Click on Options.
  7. The setting for bitmap text will convert your text to an image if the font cannot be embedded. This can cause issues with file size and quality, so we recommend unchecking the option.
  8. Click Ok.
  9. Click Save, to save the presentation as a pdf.
  10. If you have Adobe Acrobat DC, you also have the option Save as Adobe pdf. This option uses Adobe's save method and has various options when saving.
  11. The last, and least recommended, way to save a pdf is to print as pdf. After clicking on Print, you can choose Adobe pdf. When you then choose to print, a dialog box will prompt you to save the file.
