Description
Theme colors are a set of six predefined colors in the template. The theme colors affect the colors of the presentation's text, background, shapes, and charts.
Instructions
Theme colors are a set of six pre-defined colors available in your presentation. In PowerPoint, theme colors are used to create a unified style in your presentation. They affect the colors of presentation text, background, shapes, and charts.
- To view your presentation's color palette, select a text box or object in your presentation. This will make the menu under Home clickable.
- Click on the color options button in the menu, in the Font section. The button has an "A" with a colored underline.
- Below the button, you will see a box with various color options. The presentation's six theme colors can be seen in the palette at the top right. Theme colors are pre-defined and form the basis for all charts, shapes, and other content inserted into PowerPoint. The order of the six theme colors also affects the inserted content. The first theme color, the leftmost theme color, is automatically used for the shapes you insert in the presentation. For example, if you insert a chart with multiple colors, the order of the colors in the chart will be the same as the order of the theme colors.
- The rows of colors below the theme colors are gradients based on their respective theme colors.
- The colors under the Standard Colors heading are standard colors. Do not use these. They are colors pre-defined by Microsoft and do not match your organization's brand.
